Olá,

I’m Rosário Durão, a Portuguese illustrator, lettering artist, and visual communicator.

My Background

Before illustration took center stage in my life, I taught visual and technical communication to STEM students in the U.S., and earlier still, translation, in Portugal.

Along the way, I earned a Digital and Graphic Design Certificate from Parsons School of Design and, most recently, completed The Lettering Seminar with Martina Flor.

These experiences deepened my understanding of communication, storytelling, and the power of visuals, and inform every project I take on.

Who I’ve Worked With

I’ve created visual work for organizations including New Mexico Tech, the Comparative Studies Center at the University of Lisbon, and several cultural and academic initiatives.

I also participate in The Big Ampersand, an international lettering community, where experimentation and exchange continue to shape my creative voice.

What I do today

Today, I bring together illustration, lettering, and design to create visuals tailored to each client’s message and the people they want to reach.

I create stylized female characters and expressive letterforms for book covers, editorial pieces, advertising campaigns, and products.

My work is especially suited to art directors, creative directors, editors, and licensing agents looking for distinctive, visually striking stories.
