Élan and & is a self-initiated lettering project born from a fascination with editorial hierarchy and a specific design challenge from The Big Ampersand. Built on a foundation of pathfinder work and layered geometry, the piece conveys a sense of lively sophistication through its playful polka-dot detailing.

It’s a conceptual look at how custom typography, from the high-fashion styling of the "Élan" masthead to the decorative ampersand, can anchor a magazine’s identity. The project demonstrates a seamless transition from a solitary character study to a cohesive, editorial cover aesthetic.
